What's everyone's favourite bronzer?

My Lancôme Sparkling Cherub powder has run out, and my Collection 2000 Mosaic Shimmering Glow comes out looking more red then brown! (That's what you get for being skint and go looking for a cheap substitute!)

Can't stop listening to..

It's been over a week now since I last wrote...it's been quite an eventful week; Job interview, an ECG (which wasn't nearly as scary as I imagined!), had my hair done, and been enjoying the amazing weather! It's coming to the end of my week off now... :-( and it's gone so fast.

Feeling really uncertain lately.

WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY.

Reading University Open Day

The final years' exhibition was on, so I had a good look around and came across these stunning portraits by Stephanie Forrester:

I absolutely love portraiture, & was definitely the most impressed by these. They really inspired me to keep up with my own art-work, as that is something I really am lagging in lately..

I was also impressed by this set-up by Sophie McGrath:

Here are images I've scanned in from the Uni's catalogue that I took a liking to:
Both images are by Emily Davis.
Ok so bit of an update on magazine offers at the moment..
With RED magazine you recieve a free Jemma Kidd lipgloss, available in 3 different colours. I chose the most neutral shade and so far I'm using it every day - it's very glossy,
smooth, and stays put a fair while.

With Harper's Bazaar you recieve a free t-shirt:

Other offers at the mo:-
Marie Claire - Free Cowshed Bath & Shower gel (I'm a subscriber to their magazine though, and so I don't recieve their free gifts!)
InStyle - free shopper bag designed by MOSCHINO
Psychologies - Free Balance Me lipgloss (although I strongly advise against this one - the taste is horrendous and the smell is unbearable haha)
ELLE - Free REISS bag, love this offer!

Addiction

One thing I can't resist...

 is FRENCH FANCIES.

So bad, but sooo good.

Haven't blogged much recently but will have quite a bit to update on when I have time, which will hopefully be tomorrow evening.

haul

House of Fraser have a Clinique 'Gift Time' offer on that's just started, if you buy 2 products, with 1 being skincare.

I purchased the Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector and the Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream as both had good reviews.
EDIT: I have since returned the Pore Minimizer perfector back to the store, as it didn't do the job for me, and if anything it just made me break out..!

The free gift contains samples of Take The Day Off Makeup Remover, 7 Day Scrub Cream, Dramatically Different Moisturiser, All About Eyes and Deep Comfort Butter.
However I already know that the Eye cream just doesn't go down well with me - when I bought All About Eyes in the past, within a week of use red painful and itchy rashes appeared all around the eye area where you apply it. Was quite dissapointed with this as Clinique are supposed to specialise in skincare! So now I use
Olay Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream and so far it's worked great.

Allllso, anyone who likes Benefit should head down to the newsagents if they haven't already and buy Glamour magazine - which comes with 3 different Benefit products to collect.

I went a bit crazy and bought 6 as it was such a good deal haha.
You can choose from the 'Eye Bright' pencil, which works well in the inner corner of the eyes, 'It Stick' concealer which apparently is the least popular but actually works really well over spots and under the eyes, and the famous 'Bad Gal' eyeliner which has a nice design but I prefer Maxfactor or Elizabeth Arden as the kohl in their eyeliners have more intensity and you don't need to apply as much.

Wore my Belle & Mimi leather sandals today... but god did they eventually hurt! Haha ended up wearing my trusty flip flops... and ending up about 10feet shorter.

The nail varnish I'm wearing is 'Candy' by Nails Inc & I loove it

It's allllll in the eyes

A few pics I've dug out of some different shades I've experimented with (poor quality due to my very old camera back then!)

- Shades of silver progressing to black. Touch of aqua blue in the inner corners. Finished with a flick of liquid eyeliner and lashings of black mascara to open up the eyes. Eyeliner was used to line the inner eyelid and I lined black eyeshadow underneath.

- Neutral shades

I used a vibrant purple shade on the inner eyelid to compliment & bring out the green of my eye.

Tips for shades to suit your eye colour:

FOR BLUE EYES
1. taupe, gray, violet, purple, deep blue (a darker shade than your eye color makes your eyes really blue), black (mix it with bright blue for a smoky effect)
2. silver, turquoise, fuschia (brightens any shade of blue)
GREEN or HAZEL EYES
1. brown, apricot, purple, plum, deep khaki or forest green
2. gold, glowing, lime-green, really light green, bright purple
BROWN EYES
1. copper, bronze, champagne (soft pink with a touch of apricot), brown (for a doe-eyed look), beige, and khaki-green (lighter shades add highlight)
2. tangerine, royal blue, hot pink, lime-green (the contrast adds punch to brown)

So..

..I've finally decided to start up a blog. Most of which will be rambles on cosmetics/make-up, art, and anything I find that interests me :-)
