Laura Mercier Crème Lip Colour & Lip Glace

I needed to exchange an item today at my local Space NK, so decided to instead go for the new Laura Mercier lip glace, 'Bare Baby'.

 [Bare Baby layered over Caramel]

I realllllly wanted 'Bare Peach', but as they were so popular they'd sold out :-( so i plumped for Laura Mercier's Crème Lip Colour in 'Caramel', my first try at LM lipsticks.

I still intend on purchasing Bare Peach at some point though when it's in stock - the whole new range of Lip Glaces are too lovely

Have you tried any of the LM Fall 2011 Collection yet & what did you think?

The Lipstick & Cream Blusher on my lips:

To qualify for this freebie, I re-purchased the Shine Control loose powder, which as you can see compared to my old one (left), they've improved the packaging and changed its name from Oil Control to Shine Control. The old one also stated it was 'lightly medicated' whereas the new one doesn't.
I also picked up a black eyeliner pencil which I gave to my sister.

NOTD: Leighton Denny 'Supermodel'

I LOOOVE this shade. Best of all - it was free with a TATLER magazine a couple of months ago ;)
It's the perfect shade for when you can't decide what to wear on your nails, and I really like how it only requires 1 coat. 2 max. These pics are without a base or top coat, and after 2 days wear. The only downside to this polish is it picks up too much of the polish so in turn you end up applying more coats than intended. It also took a million years (ok not quite) to dry, and I ended up smudging.
I will definitely look into other Leighton Denny polishes in the future since owning this.

MUA Professional: Heaven & Earth Palette

After seeing a blog post raving about this Mua nude palette, & then discovering it in my local Superdrug - I had to give it a go :)
Just from swatching the shades, I can tell these are highly pigmented & super soft. I don't think there's any colours included that I would change, however it would have been great to see a charcoal/black included.
At £4 this is an absolute bargain and I would recommend this palette to anyone who loves neutral shades similar to that of the Urban Decay palette. (I'm even tempted to say I prefer this! As the price is, like I said, a bargain)

 Swatches:

EDIT: I had a massive allergic reaction to this! So I've sadly had to give it away to someone with less sensitive skin than me :( shame, as I would've used this palette more or less everyday. Anyone else had a reaction from this?!

Red-Lip Combo

Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Lipstick in 'Geranium Shimmer'
&
Laura Mercier Lip Glace in 'Petal'

I don't normally wear red lipstick, at all. If I do it's because I have to at work, but as I had the E.Arden lipstick lying around just never being used, I decided to see what it'd look like toned down with a golden shimmery gloss. (And Laura Mercier's lip glaces smell diviiiiiine)

What's your favourite red lip combo?

Estée Lauder Gift Time at House of Fraser

It feels like ages since an Estée Lauder Gift Time has been available local to me, so I was excited to see their current offer available tomorrow - from 25th August to 10th September at UK House of Fraser stores.
There is a choice of 2 gifts [free to you with the purchase of any 2 products], complete with the same items but different shades. Both kits include:

An eyeshadow quad compact, lipstick, eye pencil, mascara and a double ended lipgloss, plus their Advanced Night Repair Complex and new DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Day Cream

To recieve my gift, I re-purchased my Double-Wear Pressed Powder [£26.50] that I had hit pan with recently, and a beautiful eyeshadow quad [£35.50]- 'Surreal Skies'. I felt very guilty after purchasing this as I know full well I have enough neutrals/nudes/brown eyeshadows to last a lifetime, yet somehow I justify it with the thought of 'well, these colours are slightly different to any I have - plus it's all in one compact so I won't need to take any other shades with me when I'm away', haha.

Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette - 'Surreal Skies'

 so gorgeous!

Maybelline Forever Strong polish - 'Really Rosy'

Maybelline Forever Strong polish - 'Really Rosy' [discontinued]

I bought this for a BARGAIN of 50p in a Boots clearance ages ago. Wish I'd bought another now, as I really do love how it looks on the nails & I've recieved many a compliment on this shade. It has a thick consistency and it does dry quite quick apon the nails - so you need to apply it pretty fast to stop it looking gloopy. But this really is strong & chip-resistant. After a couple of days, it had only chipped on my thumb and forefinger from using them the most at work etc. This does take a while to completely set on the nails - yet another time that I've gone to bed thinking they're dry & waking up to see them complete with duvet marks & indents!

Missguided nail polish - 'Misschievous'

Missguided - 'Misschievous'

I recieved this free with Cosmopolitan magazine last month, & loved it so much that I bought two. It's a vibrant 'tomato-red' that really compliments a tan or olive skin tones. The application was great & made it so much easier to apply than most nail polishes. It also didn't chip as quick as most, even without a top coat.

Essie - Haute as Hello

Not an everyday colour or something I'd wish to repurchase if I ran out - it's also actually a lot bolder than the photo portrays. I also wasn't too impressed with the consistency of this for its price, though wearing such a bold summery colour was a nice change to deep reds or nudes.

I love this image - not just because it's one of those "Aw" images haha, but it actually makes me think of the colder weather that'll be approaching in a positive light, as I can get back to wrapping up in lots of comfy layers, with a thick coat & chunky leather boots!

P.S. Have tons of posts/reviews to put up - work has just been stressful & busy, bla la la.
